Become a Mental Health First Aider
Visible support for a stronger industry
Work-related stress, anxiety and depression are now the leading cause of work-related ill health in the UK, affecting close to one million workers each year, according to the Health and Safety Executive. High-pressure sectors such as energy, construction and infrastructure are among the most impacted.
As a Mental Health First Aider, you’ll play a valued role in promoting wellbeing and psychological safety across the network. You’ll help ensure people feel heard and supported at critical moments, while building trusted connections within a peer-led community.
Mental Health First Aiders are there to listen, offer reassurance and help signpost others to appropriate professional support when needed. You are not expected to diagnose, counsel or provide treatment. Evidence from Mental Health First Aid England shows that early, peer-level support can reduce isolation and encourage people to seek help sooner.
Support is confidential, voluntary and rooted in peer understanding.
